Theresa C. (Fitzhenry) Cahill, age 85, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Theresa was born in Dedham on October 29, 1931 to the late William and Theresa (Attridge) Fitzhenry. She was raised in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1949. She had lived in Quincy for fifty-five years.
She was a homemaker who was dedicated to her nine children, to her eleven grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Theresa loved being the matriarch of her family and proudly supported all their activities and accomplishments.
Beloved wife for fifty-nine years of the late Francis Paul Cahill, who died November 4, 2016.
Devoted mother of Alicia Cahill-Watts and her husband Lynton of Charlestown, Timothy Cahill and his wife Tina of Quincy, Sandra Pashley and her husband Chris of Sydney, Australia, Michael Cahill of Denver, Colorado, Barbara Campbell and her husband Brian of Braintree, Sean Cahill of Plymouth, Kathleen Pepin and her husband Ted of Scottsdale, Arizona, David Cahill of Quincy, and the late Paula Corletta.
Loving grandmother of Makena, Nicole, Devin, Kendra, Aiden, Brianna, Ryan, Hailey, Zoe, Max, and Logan. Cherished great grandmother of Lucy.
One of nine siblings, Theresa was sister of Frank Fitzhenry and his wife Celeste of Dennis, Alice Stack of Florida and pre-deceased by William Fitzhenry, Doris Neill, Helen Fitzgerald, Claire Mullen, her twin brother Richard Fitzhenry and Clement Fitzhenry. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Tuesday, March 21st at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment to follow in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. At the request of the family, visiting hours have been omitted.
