Peter J. Damiano, Jr., age 71, of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, May 15, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was born in Brockton, raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy Trade School, Class of 1963. He was a lifelong Quincy resident.
He was employed in the maintenance department with the U.S. Postal Service in Boston for 30 years. Previously he had worked in the electrical division at the former Fore River shipyard in Quincy.
Peter proudly served in the U. S. Navy Reserves during the mid 1960s.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.
Peter was dedicated to his family and supported all the activities and accomplishments of his three cherished grandchildren.
Beloved husband for forty-eight years of Carol E. (Anderson) Damiano.
Devoted father of Julie L. DelleChiaie and her husband Bruce of Hanson, Peter J. Damiano and his husband Victor Christianson of Quincy.
Loving grandfather of Zachary, Evan and Trey DelleChiaie.
Dear brother of James Damiano of Pembroke and Dianne Mancuso of Rockland. Peter is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Thursday, May 18th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1015 Sea St., Quincy at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. Interment with military honors at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Quincy.
