Gerard H. Gaudiano, 80

Gerard H. Gaudiano, age 80, a lifelong resident of Quincy and beloved husband of Irene L. (DiBona) Gaudiano, died on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Seasons Hospice of Milton.

Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary P. (Hermann) Gaudiano. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1955 and later severed in the Army.

A mechanic by trade, he was formerly employed by Hertz Rent a Truck and more recently for the Quincy Public Schools system as a school bus mechanic. Gerard was the past commander of the Morrisette Post 294 of Quincy. He was a New York Giants fan as well as a Red Sox fan and enjoyed listening to music such as opera by Pavarotti to the ballads sung by Sinatra. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed time spent with his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Gaudiano of Medford; a son, Daniel G. Gaudiano and his wife Sandra of Hanson; a grandson, Matthew G. Gaudiano of Hanson and his fiancé Jaimie LaRoche; two sisters, Mary Gosselin and her husband Paul and Genevieve Constas and her husband Larry. He was also brother of the late Michael, Phil and James Gaudiano.

Funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Crescent Street, Quincy on Monday, May 22nd at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Sunday, May 21st from 2 to 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
