Muriel E. (MacPherson) Maver, age 92, of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, April 14, 2018, in the comfort of her loving family.
Muriel was born in Quincy to the late Roderick and Annie (Webb) MacPherson. She was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1943. She had lived in Braintree for sixty-seven years and previously in Quincy.
She had been employed as an administrator in the insurance industry for many years. She worked at various agencies including the former Charles A. Flynn Company in Quincy and the former Sampson Insurance Company in Braintree.
Muriel was a longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Quincy where she had served as a trustee and deacon. She was a caring person and was well known for her love of others and all animals. Over the years, she had a gift for adopting and caring for countless dogs and cats, as well as people in need.
Muriel was loyal to her family and friends and especially dedicated and proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.
Beloved wife of the late Russell A. Maver. Devoted mother of Marcia L. Bober and her husband Gerard of Weymouth, Joyce A. Morreale and her husband Jerome of Virginia Beach, VA, Donald S. Maver and his wife Brenda of Hanover and the late Robert A. Maver.
Loving grandmother of Michael Bober and his wife Isabel of NH, Andrew Bober and his wife Danielle of Milton, Alexander Bober of Brooklyn, NY, Lynn Ward and her husband Brett of Lorton, VA, Paul Morreale of Virginia Beach, VA, Mitchell, Cassie and Maisie Maver all of Hanover. She is also survived by eight cherished great grandchildren.
The last of five siblings, she was pre-deceased by her brothers, William, Malcolm, Kenneth and Gordon MacPherson and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin Street, Quincy, Thursday, April 19th at 11 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday 4 – 7 p.m. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
