Reno L. Giudici, age 89, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Sunday, July 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a long period of declining health.
Reno was born in Quincy to the late Antonio and Chiara (Peodi) Giudici. He was raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Barbara.
He began his career working at the former Fore River Shipyard, first with the Bethlehem Steel Company and later, General Dynamics. He was also a self-employed contractor, operating Reno Giudici Builder for over twenty-five years.
Reno was a longtime member of the Adams Heights Men’s Club of Quincy where he often played cards and shuffleboard, and participated in the bowling league. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the club.
Reno took pride working around his home and tending to his vegetable garden, fruit trees, and flower plants. He was a hard-working man who was devoted to his family.
Beloved husband for sixty-seven years of the late Barbara R. (Sinclair) Giudici. Devoted father of John F. Giudici and his wife Jayne of Westwood, Donna R. Giudici of Quincy, and Stephen L. Giudici and his wife Susan of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Jessica Hill, Jeffrey Giudici, Joshua Giudici, Shaun Giudici, and Sarah Giudici. Cherished great grandfather of six great grandchildren. Reno was the last of seven siblings and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Wednesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. Reverend Clifford R. Brown, Rector of Christ Church Quincy, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
