Josephine Joanne Palmisano, age 100, of Scituate, formerly a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Life Care Center of the South Shore in Scituate, in the comfort of her loving family.
Josephine was born and raised in Quincy to the late Anthony and Josephine (LaMantia) Palmisano. She was a graduate of the former Saint John’s Elementary School, Quincy High School and Burrough’s Business School. She had lived in Scituate for four years.
Jo was employed for many years in Boston as an administrative assistant to a financial analyst. She was a former member of the Quincy Historical Society.
After her retirement, Jo enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, many foreign countries and enjoyed winters in Silver Springs, Florida, for many years. Jo loved to bowl, play cards and work on craft projects. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all.
One of nine siblings, Jo was the devoted sister of Catherine F. Logren of Scituate and pre-deceased by Anna Marie Palmisano, Leonard Palmisano, Rose Russo, Norman Palumbo, Anthony Palmisano, Mary Farrell and Christine Palmisano. “Auntie Jo” is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, August 11th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Friday 4 – 7 p.m. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
