State officials will hold a meeting about planned renovations at the Quincy Adams and Braintree stations’ parking garages.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation and MBTA will host the meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Lincoln-Hancock Community School, 300 Granite St.
The garage projects are set to begin this summer. The T plans to renovate the garages to extend the lifespan of the structures by 40 years and make other improvements to boost pedestrian and driver safety.
Quincy officials will host a separate meeting next Tuesday, Aug. 14, on the city’s plan to open the long-closed gate to the Quincy Adams station on Independence Avenue. That meeting is set for at 6 p.m. inside the First Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin St.
Mayor Thomas Koch announced earlier this year the gate would be re-opened this fall after remaining closed since the 1980s.
