Stephen P. Mezzetti, age 63, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died unexpectedly, at home, Monday, October 1, 2018.
Stephen was born in Quincy to the late John C. and Ruth V. (Catarius) Mezzetti. Raised in Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1973, and had lived in Weymouth for thirty-one years.
He was employed as an engineer for Comcast for thirty-five years and had worked in the Weymouth office. Steve was a Boston sports fan and loved the ocean and the beach. He was a member of the Adams Heights Men’s Club in Quincy.
Most of all, Steve was devoted to his family, especially his wife, his sons, and twin grandsons, actively supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.
Beloved husband for thirty-four years of Cheryl M. (Eaton) Mezzetti. Devoted father of Michael J. Mezzetti, Anthony P. Mezzetti, both of Boston, Jon M. Mezzetti, and Samuele N. Mezzetti, both of Weymouth. Loving grandfather of twins, Braeden and Brody Loomis, and their sister, Ellie Loomis.
Brother of John R. Mezzetti of Quincy, Janet L. Rizzitano and her husband Dom of Plymouth, James P. Mezzetti and his wife Linda of Holbrook, Peter A. Mezzetti and his wife Mary of Hull, and Karen A. Collie and her husband James of Quincy. Stephen is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, October 8th at 10 o’clock. Reverend Thomas Coronite, Pastor of The First Church in Weymouth will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday 2 – 5 p.m. At the request of the family, interment private.
