Dorothy A. (Papile) Coletti, age 91, of Quincy and East Falmouth, died peacefully, Friday, October 5, 2018, at home, in the comfort of her loving family.

Dorothy was born in Quincy to the late Giuseppe and Ezelinta (Dilorenzo) Papile and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1945. A lifelong Quincy resident, Dorothy had also enjoyed spending time at her East Falmouth summer home.

She was a homemaker but as a young woman had worked as a hairdresser and beautician, owning her own shop. Dorothy was a wonderful cook who spent countless hours preparing fabulous Italian cuisine for family and friends.

She enjoyed playing the piano, dancing and knitting. She also liked watching sports, her favorite sitcoms, game shows and keeping up on current events. Dorothy volunteered swimming with physically challenged children to help them gain strength and confidence. She was a champion for children, supporting programs for special needs in schools. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Most of all, Dorothy’s passion was her family, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandsons, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife for sixty-four years of the late Angelo J. Coletti. Devoted mother of Karyl (Coletti) Cargill and her husband Philip of Plymouth, David F. Coletti, Quincy Police Dept., Retired and his wife Courtney (Walsh) of Quincy, the late George J. Coletti and his late wife Lori (Stewart), and the late Mark A. Coletti. Loving grandmother of Tara and her husband John Hourihan, Daniel Cargill, Cara, David, Rocco, and Giovanni Coletti. Cherished great-grandmother of Hunter, Camden, Angelo, and Jordan.

Dorothy was the last and eighth of nine siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Monday, October 15 at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 p.m. At the request of the family, visiting hours have been omitted.
