Marie A. (Langdon) McCarthy of Plymouth formerly of Quincy, died peacefully in her home with her family on May 12.

Beloved wife of the late Gerald E. McCarthy. Born in Cambridge on Aug. 12, 1941, daughter of the late Harry and Matilda (Simeone) Langdon. She was the loving mother of Lynne McCarthy Bergeron of Plymouth, Laurie Borofski of Plymouth, Steven McCarthy and his wife Christine of Boylston and Lisa McCarthy and her partner Edward Corridan of Bourne. Cherished grandmother of Jason Bergeron, Carly Bergeron, Dylan Borofski and his fiance Megan Brown, Katrina Borofski, Nicole Borofski, Jennifer Lamby, Kaitlin McCarthy and Thomas McCarthy, and great grandmother of Harper Borofski. Sister of Joanne Shores and her husband John of Plymouth, Carolyn Place and her husband George of Wayland and Beverly Currie of Carver. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and let’s not forget she was a loving human to Oliver, Toby Keith, Rodney Harrison and Tiggy.

Marie was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA; she was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots. She enjoyed traveling to Aruba and wintered with her husband in Florida. A volunteer and team captain for the ACS Relay for Life, member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed Mahjong, skiing and golfing.

Visiting hours in the Cartmell Funeral Home 150 Court St. Plymouth (Downtown) on Thursday May 16 from 4-7 pm. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home on Friday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church 126 South Meadow Rd. West Plymouth. Burial in Plymouth County Cemetery.
